About Epidural Injections
As a minimally invasive pain management treatment, epidural steroid injections (ESI) offer an alternative to a surgical procedure in order to alleviate discomfort. Our team of pain management experts at Tricity Pain Associates utilize steroid injections for patients who experience chronic pain in their muscles, back, neck, legs, and joints. ESI consists of anti-inflammatory medication and a corticosteroid that is injected near or around the area that is causing pain. It can effectively diminish the pain that is caused by a number of conditions, including a herniated disc, arthritis, spondylolysis, and spinal stenosis. If you have been suffering from the discomfort of chronic pain, it’s time to seek treatment in order to improve the quality of your life. Contact Tricity Pain Associates in San Antonio, TX to learn more about ESI and to schedule a consultation with one of our skilled physicians.
"I drive extra miles to be seen at the New Braunfels office. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. There is a large waiting room with plenty of space between chairs. Medically speaking, the staff is very professional. PA Watson will do anything he can to get your pain under control. Every month he checks in with how you are doing and is willing to discuss treatment options with you. Love this place!"- M.A. / Google / Jun 18, 2022

I laid down, they inserted an IV, gave me a relaxer, and then I woke up in a wheel chair. Could not have gone any better. Th"- J.H. / Google / Jun 17, 2022

"TRICITY Pain Associates staff is amazing and not to mention Dr. K. Monis, he is an excellent Dr. I visit with him, he saw my problems and right away had the solutions. I've had this horrible pain for o er 4 years and no one could figure it out. He nailed it and I know everyone is different. But he fixed me and I'm for ever grateful to him. Thank you Dr Monis!"- P.M. / Google / Jun 17, 2022
"Very friendly staff. Only complaint is the girl who took me to the back and put me in the room, must have called me sister 20 times. That’s worse than calling someone honey, sweetie, baby or the other names we are taught in nursing not to use. She was nice but calling someone sister that many times was ridiculous"- B.T. / Google / Jun 17, 2022
Steroid Injection Treatments
For the injection procedure, you will lie on your stomach as the injection areas are prepped with a local anesthetic. The needle will then be put into position with the use of a live x-ray. Once the needle is in the correct area, the medication will be injected and you may feel some slight pressure. Following the procedure, we will carefully monitor you for a period of time before you will be released to return home to recover. You may be sore for a few days after the injections, but a cold compress can be used to help alleviate discomfort. Most patients will receive secondary treatments that are typically spaced about 1 – 4 weeks apart, and results can be noticeable for weeks or even years.
