About Nerve Stimulation
Often offered as a treatment for chronic pain, peripheral nerve field stimulation involves the placement of electrodes to affected nerves in the area that pain is occurring. After being connected to an external device, the electrodes will administer electrical pulses to the area to alleviate pain and discomfort. Several chronic conditions can be treated with peripheral nerve field stimulation based on your specific symptoms and medical history. Our team of pain management experts at Tricity Pain Associates provides this innovative procedure for our patients to help them live more comfortably while receiving long-term outcomes. "I drive extra miles to be seen at the New Braunfels office. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. There is a large waiting room with plenty of space between chairs. Medically speaking, the staff is very professional. PA Watson will do anything he can to get your pain under control. Every month he checks in with how you are doing and is willing to discuss treatment options with you. Love this place!"- M.A. / Google / Jun 18, 2022

"TRICITY Pain Associates staff is amazing and not to mention Dr. K. Monis, he is an excellent Dr. I visit with him, he saw my problems and right away had the solutions. I've had this horrible pain for o er 4 years and no one could figure it out. He nailed it and I know everyone is different. But he fixed me and I'm for ever grateful to him. Thank you Dr Monis!"- P.M. / Google / Jun 17, 2022
"Very friendly staff. Only complaint is the girl who took me to the back and put me in the room, must have called me sister 20 times. That’s worse than calling someone honey, sweetie, baby or the other names we are taught in nursing not to use. She was nice but calling someone sister that many times was ridiculous"- B.T. / Google / Jun 17, 2022
Nerve Stimulation Treatment
Performed with a local anesthetic, peripheral nerve field stimulation starts with the use of x-ray guidance for the positioning of electrodes over the affected areas. Through an attached device, electric pulses will then be administered through the electrodes. For some patients, they will need to keep the temporary device for around a week to experience results. If noticeable results occur, then a permanent device may be put into place for more long-term alleviation of pain. Though the outcomes may vary between patients, peripheral nerve field stimulation has about a 40% rate of success.
